Frequently Asked Questions
Boarding Questions, Answered
Everything you need to know before your dog or cat's stay at Ivy Pets.
Do you offer dog boarding near me in Brooklyn?
Ivy Pets is a vet-supervised dog and cat boarding facility at 1930 Avenue M in Midwood, Brooklyn (11230). We're a convenient boarding option for nearby neighborhoods including Flatbush, Sheepshead Bay, Ditmas Park, and Park Slope. If you're searching for dog boarding near me, call (718) 820-0002 to check availability for your travel dates.
How much does boarding cost at Ivy Pets?
Dog boarding is priced by weight, from $60.50 per day for dogs 1–24 lbs up to $135 per day for dogs 115+ lbs. Cat boarding starts at $66 per day for a private feline condo and $82.50 for a two-level duplex condo. Add-ons such as a bath ($33) or medication administration ($20) are available on request.
What vaccinations does my pet need for boarding?
Dogs must be up to date on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies, plus current flea and tick prevention. All pets must be healthy and free from contagious illness. Because Ivy Pets is a full veterinary facility, our team can update any missing vaccine on-site before check-in.
Can I bring my pet's own food and bedding?
Yes. We provide nutritious meals and fresh water, but you're welcome to bring your pet's own food to keep their routine consistent. Familiar bedding or a favorite toy can also help your pet feel right at home during their stay.
Do you board cats as well as dogs?
Absolutely. We offer dedicated cat boarding in private feline condos and spacious two-level duplex condos, kept in a calm, quiet space away from the dogs. Cats receive daily interaction, fresh food and water, and litter boxes cleaned every day.
Will my dog get exercise and playtime during the stay?
Yes. Every boarding dog enjoys daily walks, supervised playtime, and enrichment in our indoor and outdoor play areas. In the summer, dogs can also cool off in the pool. Your dog stays active, happy, and well cared for throughout their visit.
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Boarding check-in and pickup are available daily from 9 AM to 4 PM. If you need an arrangement outside those hours, give us a call and we'll do our best to accommodate your travel schedule.
Can you give my pet medication while boarding?
Yes. Our team administers medication during boarding for a $20 fee per stay, including pets with chronic conditions such as diabetes. Since licensed veterinarians are on-site, your pet's health is monitored closely the entire time.
Is a deposit required, and is it refundable?
For stays of more than five days, a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your pet's spot. The deposit is applied toward your total boarding cost. Our team will walk you through the details when you book.
Do you require a meet & greet before boarding?
For the safety and comfort of all pets, a meet & greet may be required before your pet's first stay, and an evaluation is required for all new dog guests. It's a short visit that helps us get to know your pet and make their stay as smooth as possible.
Give Your Pet the Best,
Even When You're Away
We're here to provide a safe, loving, and comfortable home for your pet.
